Foam extinguishing systems are highly specialised solutions used wherever specific fire loads are present. Their exact configuration depends heavily on the individual application, which is why a wide range of standards and regulations must be taken into account.
The extinguishing foam is generated from a mixture of water, foam concentrate, and air. This mixing ratio is adjusted individually depending on the application in order to achieve the required extinguishing performance. The foam forms a stable blanket over the combustible materials and provides several effects at once: it cools the fire source through its water content, separates it from the surrounding air, and interrupts the oxygen supply. As a result, the flames are smothered, toxic fire gases are suppressed, and further fire spread is reliably prevented.

Gas extinguishing systems are used wherever traditional extinguishing agents such as water, foam or powder are unsuitable due to the risk of severe consequential damage. They extinguish fires using gaseous agents that either reduce the oxygen concentration in the protected area or interrupt the chemical chain reaction of combustion. In addition, the extinguishing process lowers the ambient temperature, further inhibiting combustion and reliably stopping the fire.
A key advantage is that gas extinguishing systems leave no residue. A suitable extinguishing agent is available for every requirement: inert gases such as argon (IG-01), nitrogen (IG-100), Argonite® (IG-55) and Inergen® (IG-541), chemical agents such as Novec™ 1230, as well as carbon dioxide (CO₂) in low-pressure and high-pressure systems.
